Swiss Post International Buys MobileImaging

Swiss Post International (SPI), the foreign operations unit of Swiss post office services provider Die Post, has acquired online postcard service company MobileImaging GmbH, Die Post said on July 12, 2006.

The price of the transaction was not disclosed.

Through the deal, SPI aims at expanding the range of its online postcard service offers.

SPI now offers a service allowing customers to send online postcards from several websites, which SPI will consequently print and deliver to the recipients by post.

SPI’s customers will also be able to send own pictures taken with a mobile-phone camera via MMS.

The new service can be charged to the customer’s mobile-phone invoice or paid by using one of the established international online payment systems.
