DPD Portugal and Nespresso expand sustainable delivery service

The coffee specialist Nestlé Nespresso and DPD Portugal have announced that they will be reinforcing their commitment to sustainability by expanding their use of electric vehicles to complete deliveries.

In a statement published yesterday (24 July), the companies said that, in addition to increasing its focus on green deliveries, Nespresso will also expand its product delivery service to the already implemented DPD Pickup parcelshops network in Portugal, which now has more than 1,100 stores and 200 smart lockers.

Olivier Establet, CEO of DPD Portugal, commented: “DPD Portugal has been committed to taking measures to reduce the carbon footprint in deliveries and our strategy also involves creating greater sustainable awareness among consumers. It is very gratifying to see brands like Nespresso joining us in this challenge and allow their customers to make more ecological choices, such as the option for DPD Pickup stores and lockers for deliveries, automatically reducing 90% of carbon emissions in Portuguese cities.”
