Whistl Cross Border Solutions secures Transhipment MOU Licence

Whistl has secured approval from HMRC for its Cross Border Solutions business to operate an MoU Transhipment storage facility at their International Gateway facility at Heathrow.

The approval enhances their capabilities for handling and onward movement through simplified customs formalities of uncleared goods from third country to third country passing through the UK.

For example, if a customer in the USA has a shipment destined to the UK and EU, Whistl can now clear the UK shipment and complete the clearance and customs requirements for the goods in transit to the EU.

The service will enable ecommerce customers who operate in multi destinations to save time and money through being able to move a larger bulk shipment from the original destination into the UK and separate it in into smaller shipments for its final destinations.

The Transhipment MOU approval is the latest service from Whistl Cross Border offering worldwide import and export solutions, including seamless customs clearance and delivery management services for businesses that need to reach their cross-border customers.

Michael Boulton, Managing Director Whistl Cross Border Solutions, said: “We are committed to making the transit of goods internationally as seamless as possible to enable faster delivery times, and most importantly cost effectively.

“Moving good internationally is complex and it is our job to make that as easy for our customers as possible.  Through securing this Transhipment MOU approval, we now have a solution for ecommerce customers who want to import into the UK and the EU in the most efficient way.”
