shöpping expands its product range to include refurbished products

shöpping, the online marketplace of Austrian Post, is expanding its product range to include the category of refurbished products. The integration of high-quality refurbished products allows customers to choose from a wide range of refurbished electronics, including smartphones, laptops, tablets and much more. “Sustainability is part of shöpping’s DNA. This is also the basis of our basic concept of domestic retailers, short distances andCO2-neutral delivery by Austrian Post. With refurbished products, we are taking the next step and can now also map the goods cycle in our product range,” says Robert Hadzetovic, Managing Director of shöpping. The cooperation with Austrian refurbished retailers underlines the joint commitment to sustainability and quality products. The refurbished products available from shöpping are not only attractively priced, but also contribute to the reduction of electronic waste and the conservation of resources.  10,000 TREE PLANTINGS FOR 10,000 ORDERSIn order to welcome the refurbished products to shöpping in a sustainable way, the online marketplace plants a tree for each of the first 10,000 orders.shöpping relies on Tree-Nation, an internationally recognized NGO and official partner of the United Nations Environment Programme since 2007. The 10,000 trees will be planted in Tanzania as part of the “Plant to Stop Poverty” project. The project takes an integrated approach, advising and supporting farming communities in rural areas to engage in agroforestry to combat the prevailing poverty and the effects of climate change.Trees of the genus Trichilia dregeana, which are highly endangered by deforestation, are planted. Tree-Nation estimates that such a tree can offset around 150 kilograms ofCO2 over the course of its lifetime. By planting 10,000 trees, a total of around 1,500 tonnes of CO2 will be offset. ABOUT SHÖPPINGThe best-known Austrian online marketplace was founded in 2017 as a start-up by Austrian Post AG and today has around 40 employees. More than three million products are currently offered on shöpping. Delivery is always carried out by Austrian Post and is thereforeCO2-neutral. From an order value of 39 euros per retailer, shipping is free of charge. Every month, several hundred thousand Austrians access shöpping.
