TNT’s £26m spending spree to boost depot and fleet network

TNT is to spend £26m in new depots and vehicles in the UK over the next 12 months to strengthen its network. The express delivery company will spend £18.5m to add seven new depots to the more than 50 it already has across the UK and Ireland. The new depots will be in Basingstoke, Milton Keynes, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Nuneaton, Selby and Teesside. It will also spend £7.5m on adding 216 new vehicles – 91 trailers, 43 tractor units and 74 7.5 tonne delivery vehicles – to its 2,000-strong fleet. The announcement follows the opening of TNT’s new £22m sortation hub in Tamworth this month.
