Austrian Post: we are setting an example for continuity and growth

At its meeting today, the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Post AG reappointed Peter Umundum as Deputy CEO and Member of the Management Board responsible for Parcel & Logistics. His current term of office runs until 1 April 2026 and will then be extended by three years until 2029, with a subsequent extension option for a further two years. The decision was preceded by a public tender process, which was accompanied by a headhunter.

Elisabeth Stadler, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of Österreichische Post AG: “With the reappointment of Peter Umundum as Board Member for Parcel & Logistics, we are setting an example for continuity and growth. Not only did he successfully develop Swiss Post’s parcel business and assume responsibility for almost 20,000 employees, but he also convinced the Supervisory Board with his vision for the future of an international orientation. I am confident that under his management, network expansion and innovation will continue to be an integral part of Österreichische Post AG.”

Walter Oblin, CEO of Österreichische Post AG: “I am very pleased about the reappointment of Peter Umundum as a colleague on the Executive Board. Our long-standing and successful cooperation has established Swiss Post as a leading logistics company in Austria and beyond. With his dedication and strategic foresight, we have grown successfully in the parcel business, developed innovative solutions for our customers and established operational excellence in our logistics. I am convinced that we as a Board of Management team, together with Barbara Potisk-Eibensteiner as Chief Financial Officer, will lead Swiss Post successfully into the future with a great team spirit and look forward to continuing our cooperation.”
