RENTOKIL INITIAL MAKES FURTHER DISPOSALS FOR £8 MILLION

Rentokil Initial announces that, as part of its programme
of disposing of non-core businesses, it has sold two
businesses for £7.8 million. Its French distribution
business, Initial Rouch Intermodal has been sold to the
French company SEGI (part of the SNCF group) for FFr.
29.4 million (£2.8 million). It has also sold the UK
crawler cranes business which is part of Initial GWS to
Weldex International Offshore Limited for £5 million.

In 1999 Initial Rouch Intermodal had a turnover of £17.9
million and the UK crawler cranes business had a turnover
of £5.3 million.

Sir Clive Thompson, the Chief Executive of Rentokil
Initial, commented that:

‘These sales represent a continuation of the disposal
programme for non-core activities to bring total sales
proceeds to date to £545 million, well in line with our
target of achieving proceeds of at least £600 million.’
