Chemical transporter VTG-Lehnkering, a subsidiary of Hapag-Lloyd (Hamburg), will acquire the rail operations of IVG Holding (Bonn) for an undisclosed sum. Under the deal, VTG will gain 10,000 specialty rail cars to add to its fleet of 21,500 tank cars, 7,000 hopper cars, and 5,000 tank trucks. The company specializes in transporting liquid cargo for the German chemical industry.
