European expansion for DFDS Dan Transport

The Czech Republic/Slovakia
On 6 December 1999 the DFDS Dan Transport Group A/S took over 67% of the shares in the Czech forwarding company Interforward a.s.

Interforward a.s. with head office in Prague has an annual turnover of approx. DKK 60 mill and 50 staff.
The company has a subsidiary in Slovakia and covers the two countries geographically via 7 locations. The companys main markets are the Nordic countries, Holland, Belgium and the UK. DFDS Dan Transport has co-operated with the company for many years and the acquisition of the company extends the number of DFDS Dan Transport European home markets under own control.

During the first quarter of 2000 the company will change its name to DFDS Transport a.s.

France
The DFDS Dan Transport co-operation on the Nordic markets with the French Dubois Group ceases at the end of the year.
From 01.01.2000 all the DFDS Dan Transport Group A/S companies in Europe as well as in the USA/Far East will co-operate with DFDS Dan Transport’s subsidiary in France, NTS Transport Internationaux S.A., which is a 100% owned subsidiary. The company has an annual turnover of approx. DKK 303 mill with 191 staff and covers France via 15 locations. At the end of March 2000 the company will change its name to DFDS Transport S.A.

DFDS Dan Transport Group A/S now has own European subsidiaries in the Nordic countries, the Baltic States, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, UK, Ireland, Holland, Belgium and France.
