Deutsche Post, based in Bonn, wants to cut 1bn euros (USD 1.29 bn) in costs because of losses from U.S. operations and declining sales at its express unit, Sueddeutsche said.
Talks on the company’s “mid-term” strategy, scheduled for January, have been delayed two months to focus on the cost savings, the newspaper said, citing a document written by Appel.
