Pall-Ex is taking its proven UK business model to Italy, with the launch of Pall-Ex Italia.

While consolidating its UK business and maintaining its market-leading position in this country, the company’s expansion into Europe begins in February 2009.

A master licence agreement has been signed with Italian logistics company Alberti e Santi, which will be operating two new hubs, one in Fiorenzuola Di’Arda, Piacenza, and a second in Naples.

Adrian Russell, Pall-Ex’s Managing Director, commented: “This really is an exciting development for Pall-Ex. As an innovative and forward-thinking business, we are continually examining new markets and inventive ways to develop our services.

“Pall-Ex UK has a highly successful model for palletised distribution in the UK. Refined to reflect individual national conditions, we are certain that this model can be applied to other European countries, with an endgame to create a truly pan-European palletised freight network”.

Plans are already in place to form further networks in two other European countries during 2009.

Adrian continues, “Our strategy is to work in partnership with like-minded logistics companies to develop national networks. Potential national partners must demonstrate that they are quality driven and financially sound, with a progressive ethos and strong business ethic”.
