Chunghwa Post to launch financial products

Chunghwa Post, of Taiwan, will launch a broad range of financial products and services in 2009, including Visa debit cards.

Chunghwa Post, of Taiwan, will launch a broad range of financial products and services in 2009, including Visa debit cards.

At present, the automatic teller machine (ATM) card service offered by the company only allows customers to make cash withdrawals using ATM cards.

To offer customers greater convenience, the company plans to roll out a Visa Debit card service, which can be used over the counter.

With approximately 10m savings accounts, the company plans to issue the cards during the first half of the year.

Chunghwa Post will also provide brokerage services this year to allow access to a wide variety of offshore mutual funds.
