Online drinks retailer lastorders.com claims it will be the first Internet company

Online drinks retailer
lastorders.com claims it will be
the first Internet company to offer same-day delivery for orders taken in London and other major towns in the UK. The new service will start in the middle of April and follows a soft launch due to begin over the next few weeks. The company expects to
deliver
direct to users doors in two slots between 6pm and 10pm for orders taken before 4pm, according to Adam Frost, Operations Director of lastorders.com.
Frost said: “Same-day delivery
represents an important step forward for lastorders.com. We can now add to our current next-day service and tailor delivery to our customers’ requirements. That you can sit at your desk at work, order drinks, and have them delivered for your party that same night is a significant breakthrough.”
Logistics are made possible through the development of a new warehouse based at the Elephant and Castle in south London and a partnership with specialist home-delivery service Fastrack which has 58 depots around the country. To begin with, the service will start in London, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, Glasgow and Edinburgh.
