HDN acquires G&M
UK-based Home Delivery Network (HDN) has acquired G&M Distribution (G&M) for an undisclosed sum. Although under new ownership, the company will continue to operate under the same name, “G&M Distribution.”
G&M have acted as HDN’s sub-contractor for two man home delivery operations in Scotland for a number of years.
The acquisition allows HDN to have a direct presence across the whole of the UK and to provide clients with its industry leading service proposition.
HDN has invested in new transport scheduling systems and Hand Held Technology (HHT), which allows customers to choose a timed delivery at point of order and for clients to be able to track the progress of orders in real time to point of delivery. The acquisition of G&M now allows this technology to be deployed in Scotland.
Brian Gaunt, chief executive of HDN, said: “We are delighted to have concluded the acquisition of a business which is performing well and acquiring new clients. The addition of HDN systems post acquisition will allow us to provide the highest levels of service to our clients sending product into Scotland as well as providing an improved route to market for Scottish businesses sending product south.”
