First and Second Class mail targets beaten

Royal Mail’s First and Second Class mail exceeded their customer quality of service targets in the first three months of 2009-10. First Class delivered at its highest springtime performance since records began.

The latest quarterly quality of service report shows 94.5% of First Class stamped and franked mail arrived the day after posting – beating the 93.0% target – while 98.9% of stamped and franked Second Class mail arrived on time within three working days after posting, again beating the 98.5% target.

Standard parcels, business bulk mail services and European international mail all beat their targets as well during the first quarter of 2009-10 from the third week in March to June 7.
