French, Italian Posts Plan Mail, Express JV

The French and Italian post offices are eyeing the launch of a joint mail and express traffic later this between their respective hubs in Paris and Rome, an industry source told Reuters. The dedicated service will be operated by La Poste’s 100 percent-owned airline subsidiary, Europe Airpost, using some of its B737 QCs, ‘quick change’ and cargo aircraft, the source said. Services could also be extended to include other southern European postal utilities such as Spain and Portugal.” Reuters: “Europe Airpost has a fleet of 31 aircraft, made up of three A300-B4Fs, 10 B737-300QCs, two cargo version B737-300s, one hush-kitted B737-200QC, two hush-kitted cargo version B737-200s, four ATR72Fs and eight F27Fs.
