UPS donates $100k to Red Cross for Georgia floods

The American Red Cross has received a $100,000 donation from UPS to help with recovery in Atlanta communities that were affected by flooding last month, reports ajc.com. The article continues:

Red Cross chief development officer Jeffrey Towers said the generosity of Annual Disaster Giving Program members allows the organisation to provide lifesaving services at a moment’s notice.

He said the funds and support of the public are critical during disasters and enable the Red Cross to rush immediate relief to disaster victims before the first donation has been given.

This year’s members have provided more than $20m for the Disaster Relief Fund.

UPS Foundation’s major initiatives include programs that support community safety, nonprofit effectiveness, economic and global literacy, environmental sustainability and diversity.
