New website for Deutsche Post DHL

Deutsche Post DHL has relaunched its website at www.dp-dhl.com with a “fresh, modern design, improved site navigation and a range of new functions”. A company statement said:

The new user-centred design takes into account site users’ expectations gathered during interviews with journalists, investors and job applicants, the site’s core target groups. Following extensive usability tests the structure and design of the website were gradually adapted and improved.

One of the core elements of the new site is a media library for journalists, a comprehensive searchable archive for use by both print and audiovisual media. Photograph images, videos, ready-to-broadcast television material, factsheets and diagrams, all sorted by format and subject, will facilitate the journalists’ search for suitable reporting material. The career channel, too, has been further adapted to meet the various requirements of job applicants. They are now shown immediately all suitable current job openings and job profiles for their career level.

The improved search function returns results even before users finish entering their search terms and can easily be filtered by date, relevance and subject.

Deutsche Post DHL press releases are clearly arranged by business division and can also be sorted further by subject field such as environmental protection or finance. Users can choose to receive news items by RSS feed or e-mail subscription. Breaking news, dates and share prices can be called up from mobile devices.

In addition, all users are able to put together their own personal press packs in just a few steps by selecting photographs, diagrams, copy and audio files and then downloading the information in one go.

Site navigation has also become easier. The new pop-up navigation functions offer a better overview of the entire contents of the site and allow users to click through to their desired content more rapidly. The site also offers a clickable screen magnifying function and a screen reader for visually impaired users.

The relaunched site is subject to ongoing improvement, with users invited to submit suggestions and questions via a feedback function at the bottom of the page.
