Rest Assured sleep easy with Nightfreight

Rest Assured, the bed and mattress maker, has consolidated UK home deliveries across its retail operation by awarding a supplier contract to Nightfreight. Nightfreight’s Deliver 2 home two-man service will handle home deliveries across the UK for a diverse range of beds and mattresses purchased through Rest Assured’s retail customers.

The contract was awarded following a trial earlier this year and will now be rolled out on a regional basis to provide nationwide coverage. As a result, Rest Assured is now offering the delivery service to major UK retailers such as Tesco, which will be fully operational by the end of the year.

Nightfreight will distribute products from the Willenhall National Hub.  From there, consignments will enter Nightfreight’s shared-user network made up of more than 50 locations nationwide for onward delivery to customers, with around 1000 beds and mattresses handled each month.

As part of Rest Assured’s Quick Ship service, all orders will be forwarded electronically to Nightfreight and uploaded into Nightfreight’s proprietary management information system. This will enable the Deliver 2 home call centre to contact the consumer to agree an appropriate delivery date. NightTrak has been specially programmed by Nightfreight to calculate the estimated manufacturing time, so deliveries can be scheduled to coincide with the completion of each order and purchases are received in a fast and efficient manner.

Dean Jackson, logistics manager at Rest Assured said: “We took the decision to consolidate our home delivery offering through Nightfreight for our retail operation to drive efficiencies and improve customer service. We have worked closely with Nightfreight to develop a home delivery solution that meets our precise needs and will ultimately enhance the retail experience of our customers.”

Peter Louden, managing director of Nightfreight, said: “This contract demonstrates the ability of Deliver 2 home to provide an effective home delivery solution for awkward and outsized items nationwide. Our unrivalled network, combined with a flexible IT approach and a highly-responsive team enables us to deliver a high quality service to our customers.”
