Child’s play for Nightfreight

Cosatto, the specialist brand for pushchairs and baby products, has appointed Nightfreight to handle deliveries to independent retailers and direct to consumers at home. The agreement has enabled Cosatto to consolidate its multi-drop delivery operation due to Nightfreight’s ability to handle the company’s entire product range.

Products including highchairs, pushchairs, cots, car seats and nursery furniture will be collected from a third-party warehouse in Bolton for delivery between next-day and three-day depending on customer requirements. Around 100 orders a day will enter Nightfreight’s 50-strong depot network for onward delivery across the UK via the company’s national hub at Willenhall in the West Midlands.

As part of the deal, Nightfreight has dual-branded two trailers that form part of the company’s trunking operation. The liveried trailers will provide a means of promoting the Cosatto brand and product range on the UK’s motorway network.

Leigh Riley, operations manager at Cosatto commented: “The flexibility of the Nightfreight service will enable us to streamline our delivery service to independent retailers and direct to consumers at home to achieve operating efficiencies and enhance customer service. Nightfrieght shares Cosatto’s partnership approach, so we expect a strong working relationship moving forward.”

Peter Louden, managing director of Nightfreight said: “By combining our specialist expertise in handling awkward and outsized items with our unrivalled shared-user network and highly-skilled team, we are able to provide a dynamic solution that delivers first time with a quality service. We are working closely with Cosatto to ensure the necessary levels of responsiveness and operational performance to meet the needs of their customers throughout the UK.”
