Russia Restructures

Russia looks set to overhaul its postal industry along the lines of the German or Canadian models. Leonid Reiman, Minister for Communications and Information confirmed a concept would be developed in early 2001 to improve the services efficiency. According to the Minister, in an exclusive statement to Postal Technology International, the concept will probably be developed by foreign specialists and consultants in order to use world experience and elaborate the model most acceptable for Russia. Reiman talked about Canada and Germany as positive examples for restructuring the current system in Russia.
