New role for Schütt-Fahrenkrog at FedEx

FedEx Express has re- appointed Antje Schütt-Fahrenkrog as regional vice president operations, Central and Eastern Europe and Israel. Schütt-Fahrenkrog will play a key role in ensuring FedEx Express reaps the rewards in the region.

Prior to this appointment, Schütt-Fahrenkrog successfully built up the new Customer Experience Management division in the Europe, Middle East, Indian Subcontinent and Africa region (EMEA).  She also centralised Customer Services and re-defined the respective strategy. Schütt-Fahrenkrog led the FedEx operations in Central and Eastern Europe and Israel already between 2001 and 2006.

“We are delighted that Antje Schütt-Fahrenkrog will be taking on this key role during this important phase for FedEx Express as she is very familiar with the markets in Central and Eastern Europe and Israel and has already successfully headed FedEx operations in the region,” said Robert W. Elliott, president, FedEx Express Europe, Middle East, Indian subcontinent and Africa.  “In particular, we are excellently positioned to be able to expand our service portfolio in Central and Eastern Europe, thanks in part to the new hub at the Cologne/Bonn Airport.”

Schütt-Fahrenkrog began her professional career at FedEx Express in 1985 as a student employee in Hamburg.  She subsequently occupied various management positions before becoming managing director operations, Germany and Austria in 1993. At that time, Schütt-Fahrenkrog was the first manager in this position from outside the US.  She studied Germanic and Philosophy at the Christian Albrecht University in Kiel and received a diploma in business management at the Hessische Verwaltungs- und Wirtschafts-Akademie (Hessian Academy for Administration and Economy).

Throughout her career she has received several prestigious awards: the Forbes Magazine Female (German issue) Award of the Year in 1994, the President’s Club award in 1998, 2006 and 2009 and three FedEx Five Star Awards, the highest FedEx recognition, in 1998, 2003 and 2008.

Schütt-Fahrenkrogs’ predecessor in this role, Michael Mühlberger, has been supporting the FedEx team in Dubai since November.
