Skillweb launches new communications solution

Skillweb has launched a new mobile communications solution to help home delivery operators overcome the complex and costly challenges of returns. The company has added Return-it to its Houndit suite of simple-to-implement technology solutions to enable couriers to fulfill the demands of reverse logistics for multiple retail operations, by simplifying and streamlining supply chain processes through effective parcel tracking.

The returns processes operated by retailers are extremely diverse, which has traditionally made it difficult for a home delivery operator to implement a technology solution that can meet the individual needs of its customers. With Return-it, carriers can adopt an innovative tracking solution quickly and cost-effectively that can overcome many of these issues faced with regards to parcel returns.

Return-it offers a wide range of functionality to deal with full and partial pre-advised pickups, exchanges, regular collections, collect whilst at delivery location and full ad-hoc collection.  The module includes consignment notes and other documentation typical of retailers return processes, allowing a carrier with a mobile device to perform the returns requirements of different retail customers within a single job.

When combined with the already powerful depot functions contained within Houndit, the system enables full lifecycle delivery, collection and returns processes with total visibility and tracking throughout. Pre-defined areas allow the carrier to deal with the handling and storage challenges of reverse logistics such as the grouping returns by retailer, quarantine of items, and rerouting of products for repair.
