TNT launches Express Import system

TNT Express has launched its new Express Import system which gives customers complete control over their import shipments. This web-based tool lets companies order the collection of import shipments from around 170 countries with quotations and billing in their local currency to better control shipping costs.

TNT’s system enhances its current Express Import services and is available to all customers regardless of the type or size of their business, and whether they are sourcing finished goods or spare parts from multiple suppliers around the world.

One unique feature of TNT’s Express Import system is the option to request a quotation before the booking is completed. This means customers can decide when their import shipment will arrive and at what cost. TNT ships the goods via its ground or air network, depending on the customer’s budget and timeline requirements. Express Import is available with any of TNT’s core delivery services: 9:00 Express, 10:00 Express, 12:00 Express, Express, 12:00 Economy Express and Economy Express.

“TNT aims to make importing easier for its customers,” says Jan Willem Breen, director marketing and sales, TNT Express. “Our new system offers them greater control, speed and automation, wherever they may be importing from in the world. Our customers will access our Express Import system through TNT’s online customer interface, myTNT. Senders are only required to have Internet access and email to connect to the system to complete the order. TNT will collect the shipment once the order information is validated by the system and the order is approved by the receiver. Importing has never been more efficient”, he adds.

TNT Express transports several million import consignments every year. Partly due to the rise of China, India, and other emerging economies for production, import demand has grown faster than export demand for TNT.
