United Parcel Service is expanding mail pickup service by mid-2002

UPS collects enough letters to get a discount of two cents for each 34-cent stamp. The savings are passed on to customers, but UPS charges them about $2 for each sack of mail it picks up. The original article discusses the UPS mail pickup service and its implications in further detail.
