British Safety Council Award for DHL

Staff from the DHL Supply Chain warehousing and distribution site at Whitwood have won a British Safety Council International Safety Award. DHL won the award for its “comprehensive health and safety policies, commitment to a positive safety culture at every level, and providing its workers with the necessary skills and competence to ensure health and safety risks are properly controlled.”

Following independent adjudication by the BSC, the Whitwood site collected the award for the fourth consecutive year in front of 900 invited guests at the annual International Safety Awards ceremony in London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

Terry Ager, safety, health and environment manager, consumer retail, DHL said: “We’re delighted to receive this award on behalf of all our staff at the Whitwood site. Health and safety are top of our agenda and are fundamental to running an efficient organisation. This award is testament to the hard work of the whole team at Whitwood and will spur us on to even greater heights next year.”
