Serbian government to setup electronic signature
A Serbian minister has announced that an electronic signing system will be introduced for government documents. Jasna Matic specified that it will be implemented after the adoption of the Rules of Procedure of the government, which is under construction, according to Balkans Business News.
Electronically signed documents will have the same legal force as if they were personally signed; she explained and recalled that the Serbian government held its first electronic session on 11 June.
This enables a higher level of transparency and greater participation as it may be easier to review all materials that are available before the session, she explained.
She recalled that the internet portal of Serbian e-administration was activated on 11 June this year, offering more than 100 electronic services for citizens.
Certificates for electronic signature, which is required for the use of the electronic portal, are issued by postal company Posta Srbije, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce (PKS) and the Ministry of the Interior, said Matic.
We plan to expand the use of information technology into other areas of public life, concluded the minister.
