MetaPack and Pitney Bowes collaborate over tracking tool

MetaPack has launched a parcel tracking engine, called Parcel-Track.com. The product has been developed and used internally by MetaPack as a standard feature in their multi-carrier management software.

Now it has been made available as a standalone service.

Available as a website, Parcel-Track.com also features as one of the time-saving apps on the newly launched product from Pitney Bowes – the Connect + Series mailing system.

Parcel-Track.com provides a single point of entry to find tracking information for any parcel shipped via a tracked service – regardless of which carrier was used.

It also presents the user with one box to enter any tracking number from any carrier and retrieves the status of the delivery within seconds.  Carrier tracking available through the engine includes: FedEx, APC, UK Mail, City-Link, La Poste, DHL, DPD, HDNL, Hermes, Interlink, Parcelforce, Royal Mail Special, Tuffnells, TNT and UPS, etc. The platform is free of charge and requires no registration or log-in.

Pitney Bowes has re-skinned parcel-track.com, calling the service ‘Track a parcel’ – one of a series of apps featured on the Connect + Series.

Fabienne Luisetti, director of mail & parcel e-solutions, Pitney Bowes, said: “Our Connect + Series technology is web-enabled, allowing us to provide our mailroom customers with value-added services in the form of mobile-web style apps.  Track a parcel is a great productivity tool for those who deal with multiple carriers to send or receive several parcels each day. We are delighted to be able to work with MetaPack to include this technology on our most sophisticated mailing system to date. Our early adopters have already expressed deep interest.”

Patrick Wall, CEO of MetaPack added: “This is a logical partnership as MetaPack are integrated to over 20 parcel carriers in the UK and we can provide a single tracking location for the movement of all UK parcels. Together, Pitney Bowes and MetaPack put parcels and letters in one place. It provides convenience for the customer and saves them time.”
