SingPost launches import service with DHL

A door-to-door import service has been launched for retail customers by SingPost. The operator has introduced its Speedpost Import Express service in partnership with DHL.

Speedpost Import Express provides retail customers import services from over 100 countries worldwide to their doorstep. Customers can also arrange for collections from an overseas client and pay for delivery in Singapore currency, removing any uncertainty arising from exchange rate conversions and fluctuations.

Customers are only required to submit the Import Request form and make payment via any of the 62 post offices. The Import Request form is available at the post office and Speedpost website.

Steve Ng, vice president (marketing), at SingPost, said: “Our customers are at the centre of everything we do at SingPost. We constantly innovate and reinvent our products and services to cater to the evolving needs of our customers. Speedpost Import Express addresses the growing need of customers who want a full-suite solution, for example students studying aboard will find this service useful. As the import transportation cost is paid in Singapore currency by their family members, students will have better control of shipping costs when sending their student belongings home. Speedpost Import Express is another example of SingPost’s continuous efforts to provide our retail customers with flexible delivery solutions through leveraging our core strength in distribution network.”

Herbert Vongpusanachai, managing director, DHL Express Singapore, added: “We are pleased to partner with SingPost to offer Speedpost Import Express to customers here as we see an increasing import need by various customer groups, ranging from SMEs to individuals. This partnership leverages both DHL’s strength in providing unparalleled worldwide coverage of importing from up to 102 countries and SingPost’s extensive local distribution network.”
