Swiss Post International wins Healthy Workplace Award

Swiss Post International (UK) has been awarded a Simplyhealth Healthy Workplace Award for its “continuing commitment to the health and wellbeing of its employees”. Provided by healthcare provider Simplyhealth, the Healthy Workplace Awards recognise the contribution that UK organisations, in both the private and public sector, make to the welfare of employees. Winners of the awards provide employees with a range of initiatives and benefits that help to keep their workforce motivated and healthy.

Swiss Post International demonstrated a range of forward-thinking initiatives, including an employee assistance programme enabling any employee to speak in confidence about a health or other personal issue with any of the management team.

Furthermore, the company also offers free flu inoculations each year to all 140 employees, as well as free regular eye tests for all VDU users.

Health initiatives have also helped to reduce employee absence by over 60% in the last couple of years. Employees are also supported with ‘back to work’ programmes where there has been long-term absence.

The award was presented to Clare Wheeler, HR manager, Swiss Post International (UK). She said: “We are extremely pleased to have won the award. We think it’s important to look after our employees and offer them benefits that they will actually use. We are always looking for new initiatives, and even ways that we can create a good work and home life balance for our employees.”
