GFS strengthens management team with promotions

UK-based parcel and carrier manager Global Freight Solutions (GFS) has announced that it has bolstered its management team with a series of key promotions. The move has seen GFS create two new directorial posts for current senior personnel. Daniel Ennor becomes director of commercial development while Peter Liu has been named director of IT.

The process has also seen Gail Bigglestone, who has worked closely with Ennor on the firm’s approach to attracting new clients, replacing him as head of commercial development.

GFS’s managing director, Neil Cotty, said the promotions were reward for the contributions made by all three individuals to the company’s continued success and recognition of their role in planning for further growth.

“Daniel, Peter and Gail have all been instrumental expanding and presenting what we do and what we stand for to clients. The momentum which we have established is due in no small part to their efforts and those of their colleagues.

“By promoting them, we believe that they will be able to play an even more strategic role in developing GFS well into the future.”

Liu, who has been with GFS for 10 years, has been responsible for leading an in-house team of IT specialists which has produced a succession of innovations. Most recently, it created a paper-free claims handling system, reducing the time and cost associated with tackling the issue of lost or damaged parcels.

Ennor and Bigglestone have been with GFS for a combined total of seven years and have played central roles in bringing on board household brand names in the retail, leisure, financial services and engineering industries.

Their promotions are the latest step forward in the ten-year history of GFS, which handles millions of parcels each year on behalf of its clients.

Earlier this month, Post&Parcel reported that City Link had entered a partnership with GFS.
