CityPOST expects major increase in turnover

Irish private postal operator CityPOST expects its turnover to increase by 60% this year, after winning new business contracts. Now established as a viable alternative to national operator An Post, the company expects turnover to increase from EUR 16m to between EUR 24-26m this year.

Furthermore, Ian Glass, managing director, said the company expects “to make significant job announcements in Ireland and Portugal in the next few months”.

CityPOST has had its contract renewed to distribute telephone directories across Ireland for the next three years, worth EUR 5m. This comes on the back of a similar EUR 10m deal to deliver the directories across Portugal.

The company’s 28,000 square foot facility in Quelez, near Lisbon, employs 120 staff, as well as 450 independent contractors.

In Ireland, CityPOST employs 188 staff, and is currently looking to upgrade its 26,000 square foot facility in a bid to almost double its floor space.
