Danzas teams up with Royal Cargo

Logistics solutions provider Danzas has signed a joint venture agreement with logistics company Royal Cargo Corporation (RCC) in the Philippines. (10/4/2001)

RCC will be integrated into the Danzas Intercontinental Business Unit in the Philippines and form a new entity called Danzas AEI Inc. With the joint venture, Danzas AEI Inc. will provide logistics services for both incoming and outgoing cargo.

Former president of RCC Michael Raeuber will be chief executive officer of the new joint venture and Claude Schaer will be chief operating officer. Both executives will be based in Manila. They will oversee nine other representative offices throughout the Philippines with a total of around 320 staff – 135 from the former Danzas Philippines and 185 from the former RCC.

Mr Raeuber said: “The new incorporation will bring immediate benefits to our customers who will enjoy enhanced supply chain management solutions. This is made possible with the speedy flow of goods and information via the Danzas Group’s comprehensive network.

“The Philippines is an excellent choice as it is a major supplier of electronics to the US and Europe. Leveraging on Royal Cargo Corporation’s infrastructure, Danzas AEI Inc. is well positioned in the Philippine market.”

RCC has operated in the Philippines for the past three decades, providing logistics services including air freight, ocean freight, import/export clearance, movement of personal effects, trucking, warehousing and insurance.
