Security Surcharge: TNT Express

TNT Express said it would begin imposing a security surcharge of 3 percent per consignment on Oct 15, in response to increased security costs and risks. Ken McCall, chief executive officer of TNT Asia, said the surcharge was unavoidable because the company had made a significant investment in new security systems imposed by international airlines and government agencies around the world. Additional investments were needed to enhance security procedures in order to minimise any disruption to international express services.
