High growth rates at DPD Romania

DPD Romania has seen its turnover increase by 25% during the first half of 2011. The operator – whose majority shareholder is La Poste’s subsidiary, GeoPost – recorded a turnover of EUR 4.17m for the six month period.

Profit over the half year also jumped by 17%, and the company said it expects turnover to grow by another 25% before the end of the year.

Lucian Aldescu, CEO of DPD Romania, said: “The increased turnover and profit were due to the same engine of growth as in the first quarter, innovative services that adapts perfectly to the needs of our clients and the latest technologies that make our work easier and more efficient.”

DPD Romania is one of the leading parcel carriers operating in the Eastern European country, and has more than 500 employees.

The courier firm – which has 100% coverage across Romania – delivers around 12,000 packages a day, utilising its network of 74 warehouses.
