Rafaat to direct operations at TNT Express UAE

TNT Express UAE has promoted Marwan Rafaat as operations director for the company’s activities in the United Arab Emirates. Rafaat was previously operations manager for the company’s main depot in Al Qusais.

He brings 12 years of experience in the logistics industry to his new role, but has been working with TNT Express delivering operational initiatives at the company since 2008.

Mark Pell, General Manager for TNT Express UAE, said: Marwan’s appointment will be a great support to further reduce operational cost management and improve customer expectation.”

Among his new duties, TNT Express said Rafaat will head up the state-of-the-art facilities at Jebel Ali, along with the recently launched air cargo facility at Dubai Airport Free Zone.

TNT Express has seen ongoing development in the Middle East, especially the UAE with hub expansion at Dubai International Airport and Jebel Ali as well as a daily air connection between Dubai and Europe.

The company said it has been responding to good demand from customers, particularly for TNT’s air and road networks of the Middle East connecting to the USA via TNT’s network in Europe.

“I am delighted to work hand in hand with the team at such an exciting time with significant development in the UAE transport infrastructure. Having a clear understanding of what is required is a key to ensuring we engage with our customers more and deliver transport options that meet their expectations”, said Marwan Rafaat.
