Swiss Post Office increases pay by 3.2 percent
Schweizerische Post, the Swiss post office, will grant a pay rise of 3.2 per cent, but rejects further material demands by the communication workers’ union. The union informs that it intends to contact the arbitration commission, arguing that the post office is not following up moderate demands.
Schweizerische Post had already announced that it would increase the amount available for staff pay by 3.2 per cent, of which 1.8 per cent as a general pay increase, 1 per cent for individual pay increases and 0.4 per cent for individual pay alterations arising from a new agreement. Inflation is taken into consideration in the sums, and the post office argues that the 3.2 per cent rise lies within the upper range of pay rise agreements for 2002 in the industrial and service sectors.
