DANZAS FORMS OCEAN, LCL TEAMS

Danzas AEI Intercontinental says it is strengthening its North American ocean services organization, with an emphasis on trade lane management and less-than-containerload (LCL) services. Danzas has established four new divisions, three in the United States and a fourth in Canada.

Gale Speanburg is responsible for the U.S. eastern division, Debra Uvelli heads the U.S. central division, Gary Osterbach leads the U.S. western division, and Bill Provan manages ocean services in Canada. All report to Philipp C. Rathgeb, vice president, ocean services, who is based at the organization’s new ocean headquarters in Newark, N.J. The new structure establishes three trade route management teams, each of whom are responsible for maintaining and strengthening carrier relationships within their respective trade lanes. The trade route directors are Per RVlamb (trans-Atlantic); Carrie Quinn (trans-Pacific) and Joe Wippel (Latin America). Danzas AEI Intercontinental has also created a new position dedicated exclusively to its LCL product, and named Tara Caputo director of LCL services. Danzas AEI Intercontinental says it is the world’s leading ocean freight forwarder, annually handling more than 700,000 TEUs of ocean freight.
