Flash Europe takes over UK logistics firm v-one
European express transport and logistics company Flash Europe has acquired British express logistics provider v-one. The company said the takeover, for an undisclosed amount, was “strategically important” in strengthening its presence in the “high business growth” automotive industry in the UK.
It comes as part of a global strategy of building a “permanent and close-knit” network, said Flash Europe, which now provides service to 78 countries, with its own operations including 35 offices in 15 countries in continental Europe and North Africa.
The network currently makes around 400,000 special deliveries a year.
Philippe Higelin, Flash Europe’s general manager, said Manchester-based v-one had expertise in air charter, airfreight and on-board courier services.
“In v-one we’ve acquired a company that has been operating successfully in the market for many years and enables us to profitably access the British market,” he said. , says Philippe Higelin, Flash Europe’s general manager.
“Its expertise in air charter, airfreight and on-board-courier services makes it highly attractive. It gives us the opportunity to enlarge our network in these sectors and, above all, benefit from its staff’s expertise. In return we’ll be sharing our skills in direct delivery with the company and will offer v-one customers our high quality service.”
Flash Europe said James Griffiths will be heading up v-one under its new ownership, as former general manager James Softley retires following a 40-year career in logistics.
