TNT Express France: 2001 Turnover €483 Million

TNT Express France, the French unit of TPG NV’s express division, estimates its 2001 turnover will reach 483 million euros, the company said in a statement. This is in keeping with the unit’s objective of annual growth in turnover of around 15 percent. 2000 turnover had totalled 422.1 million euros. TNT Express France was officially set up on December 1, following the merger of Jet Services, a French business to business express operator which TPG acquired in l999, and TNT International Express France and marks a new organisation of the group in France, the statement added. ‘This is a decisive stage for TNT Express and our ambition is to become a model in terms of services,’ Marie-Christine Lombard, TNT Express France’s ceo, said in the statement. ‘A third of the services we will be offering in five years’ time don’t yet exist. In order to develop them, we have built a flexible and competent organisation which allows our added-value services to be the quickest, the most reliable, the most adaptable and the most innovative,’ she added. TNT Express France has 130 sites, operates 50 air cargo round trips on a weekly basis and has a road fleet made up of 3,000 delivery vehicles.
