Deutsche Post takes over the Swiss Parcel service provider Qualipac AG expanding its existing market presence

Deutsche Post is poised to take over the Swiss parcel service provider Qualipac AG which has its registered office in Altishofen. With Qualipac, the third largest company in the Swiss parcel market, Deutsche Post will be expanding its market position in Switzerland. Back in December 1997, Deutsche Post took over the second-largest parcel service provider in Switzerland, G. P. Paketlogistik AG, renaming it quickstep parcel service AG.
In 1998, Qualipac AG generated a turnover of around CHF 21 million with 180 staff and partners. The “Quali-Night” segment will not be affected by the takeover.

The logistics structures of quickstep and Qualipac will be optimised by the autumn of 1999. In doing so, the companies will be able to avail of considerable synergies. This will result in benefits for the customers of both companies which will manifest themselves particularly in better market presence.
