TNT Still Dominates Dutch Mail Market

TNT Post Groep, the Dutch mail, express and logistics company, still has a very dominant position on the Dutch mail market four years after deregulation, it emerged from an investigation by research institute TNO. The main reason for TNT’s key position is its finely woven national distribution network. The company has a monopoly on the red mail boxes, as a result of which newcomers cannot build their own network. Only on the market for newspaper and business mail distribution TPG is not the largest player in the Netherlands.
