Sweden Post e-technology solution

The Swedish Postal service is developing an e-postbox, designed to be a hybrid or wholly-electronic post box. The service is part of a change in the posts direction towards electronic services and is designed to enable businesses and government to send bills, pay-slips, forms and marketing information to individuals.
Anders Thoursie, Postens e-service business manager said that a number of businesses are already connected, and private individuals will be able to sign up for free ePostbox subscriptions. He added that the post had tried to deal with security worries.
Every transmission through the system is protected by an electronic postmark, guaranteeing that message will not be opened during transmission.
Borge Osterholm, Postens COO said: This new infrastructure is a natural progression in Postens business – transmitting messages. It will become available to anyone with access to the internet as a consequence of Postens developing infrastructure.
The post said it hopes the service will create more freedom and choice for its customers as people will be able to choose when and where they open their mail and in what format it reaches them, as well as proving cheaper for its business customers.
