Correos And Western Union Renew Their Agreement For Another Five Years

CORREOS, the leading postal service company in Spain, and Western Union (NYSE: WU), a global leader in payment services, announced today the signing of a new agreement for another five years to continue providing the Western Union® Money Transfer SM services and, in addition, the Western Union Business Solutions service to the customers of the CORREOS network. Thanks to the new agreement, CORREOS will expand the Western Union services that are available throughout its network of over 2,260 branch offices. CORREOS will now also offer the Western Union Business Solutions service that enables companies of all sizes to send and receive international payments, creating unique solutions tailored to suit their foreign exchange needs.

Thanks to this agreement, CORREOS remains integrated into a global network committed to providing quality service and benefits for its customers, offering them the added reliability associated with its brand.

Western Union offers fast, reliable and convenient ways to send and receive money, through a combined network of approximately 500,000 Agent locations in 200 countries and territories. This allows consumers to send money to receivers in minutes at any Western Union Agent’s office

For Javier Cuesta, president of the public Spanish postal company, “this agreement is the result of long years of collaboration and the positive experience with the services provided. We trust that this new agreement will improve and increase service offerings for our clients, and position CORREOS as one of the most advanced operators in international remittances, both for consumers and businesses alike.”

Jan Hillered, Senior Vice President – Europe and CIS, Western Union, says, “Western Union is delighted to extend our successful relationship with CORREOS. This agreement is a clear demonstration of the added value that our international network can bring to national postal service operators, and very good news to all of our customers in Spain who appreciate the high quality.
