UPS Freight to increase less than truckload rates 5.9%
UPS has said its freight rates will go up by 5.9% from 16 July, in a general rate increase covering non-contractual shipments in the US, Canada and Mexico. The fourth largest less-than-truckload carrier said the rate adjustment would apply to minimum charge, LTL rates and accessorial charges.
Other carriers in North America have announced slightly higher rate increases, with FedEx stating last month that its rates within the US and Canada, and cross the border into Mexico, would rise 6.9% from 9th July.
Michigan-based Conway Freight is also bringing in a 6.9% rate increase for its national LTL services, effective 9th July, while Arkansas-based ABF Freight adopted a 6.9% rate increase as of 25th June.
