Post Danmark unveils next-gen parcel shipping platform

Post Danmark has launched a new web-based shipping system that makes it easier for commercial customers to send and keep track of packages and freight. The Pacsoft Online system is being offered free of charge, and is based on a system Post Danmark’s sister company Posten AB has been using in Sweden for some time.

The new system allows customers including ecommerce retailers to print shipping labels, choose between service options like Saturday delivery or client notifications, and track packages.

It also offers some analytics data and allows the sending of transport invoices.

Post Danmark head of logistics Carsten Dalbo said the new system was characterised by its high stability and high degree of usability.

“Pacsoft Online is a thoroughly tested system that Posten has successfully offered their customers in Sweden for several years,” he said.

“The system is one of the best on the market and will make it easier and more efficient for our customers to handle the shipping portion of their business.”

WebPack

Post Danmark said the current 12,000 users of its existing WebPack system are being sent starter kits for the new system, and will now be transferred to the new system over the next few months, including transfer of their existing sender and recipient data.

Unlike the WebPack system, Post Danmark said Pacsoft Online will allow use of label printers, will operate in all web browsers, and has an easier system for saving and correcting or canceling address entries.

There is also no limit on how many items can be sent via Pacsoft Online.

“WebPack is now retiring, and I am sure that our customers will experience a clear improvement,” said Dalbo.
