BBX agrees with Unipart

BBX, formerly Blue Band Express, has announced a major joint venture agreement with logistics company, Unipart DCM, part of the Unipart group of companies.

A well as transferring Unipart’s previously outsourced business into the BBX network, the 2 companies will also market Unipart DCM’s supply chain management services to the existing BBX customer base. Steve Brimfield, BBX’s group managing director, sees the deal as the ‘first step in the company’s rebirth’. He says ‘This is fantastic news for everyone associated with BBX. For the first time in years, we can look forward with optimism and a purpose.’ George Inch, currently general manager of Unipart DCM’s group distribution, will take on the aditional responsibilities of business development director of BBX. Unipart DCM’s managing director Keith Jones and director Mark Tonks will also be joining BBX Group’s board.
