Sue Barton to lead on strategy for Post Office Ltd

Post Office Limited has appointed former Accenture postal industry consultant Sue Barton to join its Executive Committee as Strategy Director with effect from 3 September 2012. Commenting on the appointment, Paula Vennells, Chief Executive of the Post Office, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Sue Barton has agreed to join the Executive Committee, where her extensive knowledge of strategy development within the postal industry, will be a great asset to the Post Office as we continue to grow and modernise our business.”

Barton’s experience includes extensive time within postal consultancy, at Accenture and PA Consulting where she has worked with many of the leading international postal organisations providing support and advice across a broad spectrum of areas.

These include strategy development, improving quality of service, conducting operational reviews, developing new organisational models, commercial renegotiation and structuring of commercial arrangements, as well as expertise in technology innovation and competition in both the UK and Europe.

“I am very excited to be joining the Post Office as it embarks on a new era as an independent company, delivering change and innovation,” said Barton.

“With ambitious plans for growth, modernisation and customer excellence to drive forward, I want to ensure that the benefit of my previous experience within the postal industry makes a marked difference as we move the Post Office forward.”
