City Link Prove-it system
Express parcel delivery specialist Initial City Link has invested in a new system which uses hand-held technology combining a bar code scanner with a digital camera to track consignments and provide evidence of delivery.
Under the Prove-it! system, packages are scanned at key stages throughout the collection and delivery process, and at the end of its journey a digital image of the customers signature is also recorded. At depots, the information is up-loaded onto City Links computer system allowing customers to view the progress of their consignment.
