Pallet ventures build network

Established pallet distribution networks such as Palletline and Pall-Ex are facing growing competition from rivals with pan-European strategies.
Exxtor Shipping Services, a subsidiary of Associated British Ports, has joined JS Braid & Co, the Pallet Network and GBS International Spedition to form European Network Distribution (END). The service will build on the domestic operations of the Pallet Network and GBS in the UK and Germany respectively, to offer door-to-door deliveries to Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Denmakr and Austria.
United Pallet Network (UPN) has also expanded its service to Europe following a 2 month trial. MD Andrew Spender said: Weve been growing by 300% each month domestically, and with many members running regular services to Europe, it made sense to expand there.
Palletline has now added a Spanish service to its Netherlands and Belgium connections, with Germany and France to be added soon.
